The successful candidate will be a degreed Accounting Specialist with excellent written and verbal English communication skills, confident, pleasantly assertive, and able to work effectively in a team environment or individually with minimal supervision.
Position: Accounting Specialist
Department: Finance & Administration
Purpose: Assist in invoicing processes, financial statement preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounting support
Responsibilities:
• Research accounting issues
• Prepare monthly income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statement
• Book monthly deferred revenue recognition entries
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, annual financial statement budgets and annual department budgets
• Monitor cash balances
• Track depreciation and amortization
• Process credit card and e-check transactions and semi-monthly employee expense reimbursements
• Coordinate tax return preparation for all entities
• Handle inquiries from churches, customers, and employees
• Calculate and process monthly and annual customer invoices
• Assist with all contract administration duties; new agreements, TWA update calculations, iFOOS contract data, process upgrades, downgrades and terminations
• Process accounts payable
• Monitor accounts receivable
• Manage daily accounting entries
Work Requirements:
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to establish credibility internally and externally as a professional whose experience and knowledge can be depended upon to produce sound advice and well documented decisions
• Exemplary verbal, written & presentation communications skills
• Demonstrate creative and flexible problem solving, organizational, and time management skills to meet the needs of others
• Able to work independently and manage multiple job functions while maintaining superior customer relationships
• 2-4 years of accounting experience (industry or public accounting)
• Demonstrate Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word competence
• Strong human relations skills to develop and maintain working relationships with all levels of Company personnel
• Flexibility to quickly adjust to changes in priorities
Education:
• Bachelor Degree in Accounting required
• Master Degree in Accounting preferred
• CPA preferred
